Walter Hetterschijt
Managing Director
Designing systems that make sense — for people, markets and society
Walter started his career in technology — with a degree in Computer Science & Software Engineering and early roles as IT consultant and business analyst. That technical foundation runs through everything he does today. At Pensioenfonds Rail & OV he built the impact investment portfolio and led digital innovation. As fund manager at Annona Sustainable Investments he managed SME investments across Latin America and East Africa for over a decade, earning B Lab Best-for-The-World recognition. He co-founded Annona Deep Tier Impact Finance to bring the same rigour to supply chain finance — developing the TradeCoin blockchain platform and building the digital infrastructure that powers Annona's operations today.

Business economist, cultural anthropologist and entrepreneur with 27+ years of experience in sustainable agri-food systems
Maurits is a business economist, cultural anthropologist, and entrepreneur with over 27 years of experience in market and business development, international sales, investment management, and sustainable economic development across Europe, Latin America, the United States, and Africa. He is the owner and Managing Director of Buro del Rey, and co-founder of Sabor Verde, a Netherlands-based brand offering ready-to-eat avocado products. He is also co-founder of El Castillo del Cacao, a chocolate brand and production facility in Nicaragua. Maurits combines entrepreneurship with deep expertise in coffee and cacao value chains and is active as an investment manager in sustainable agri-food systems.
