The story
Don Ovidio was born in the La Montañita community in Chalatenango. Since he was 15 years old he would accompany his father in agriculture, until they had to cease their activities due to combats during the Salvadoran Civil War.
In 1992 he started working on his first farm. That one and two more were sold to purchase one in a better location and at a higher altitude. El Trompillo, named after a native tree in the coffee-growing area of the Alotepec-Metapán mountain range, goes from 1400 to 1550 msnm. When he bought more land at 1650 msnm he planted it with Pacamara, Pacas, Typica and Geisha.
Ovidio defines himself as a family man with four children, strong religious principles, a lover of nature and protector of fauna. He is surrounded by fellow producers and friends with whom they share knowledge and growing techniques.
