The story
When don José Efraín Díaz passed away, Finca Machuca was inherited in equal parts by his sons William, Renato and Arnulfo. Renato bought out William's inheritance rights and renamed his parcels Finca La Trilla.
The bond between Renato and Arnulfo goes far beyond sharing the land their father worked with a vision of sustainability — their collaboration is exemplary.
Renato has improved the parcels he received using the same genetics as his father. His main focus is keeping a healthy farm through friendly agricultural practices and a low use of agrochemicals.
Varieties and processes: Pacas semi-washed with 48 hours of fermentation, and Pacamara semi-washed with 72 hours of fermentation before a rapid wash. The farm sits at 1500–1600 msnm across 3.8 hectares in cantón Machuca, Chalatenango.
